Considerate Parking Around School

Following a number of complaints, I am writing to remind parents about the importance of considerate parking and road use. We receive legitimate complaints on a regular basis about parents:

  • parking on the pavement

  • parking in restricted areas including on and opposite the double yellow lines and zig-zags.

  • parking near to junctions

  • dropping children off - in and at the mouth of the exit road to school.

  • double parking

  • parking in such a way as to restrict access to parking for others

We also receive periodic complaints from nearby residents who have cars parked across their driveways and are unable to access and exit their own property.

All of these practices are potentially dangerous and could result in injury to pedestrians and other road users. The police are aware of the complaints and will take any necessary action against people committing traffic offences.
